Moldcell Foundation Wins Silver Award at the World Communication Awards 2025
Moldcell Foundation has been awarded the Silver Award at the World Communication Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious international competitions in the telecommunications industry, in the Social Contribution category. The distinction was granted following a highly competitive selection process, with 23 organizations from around the world submitting entries, confirming the relevance and impact of the Foundation’s programs in the Republic of Moldova.
The award recognizes Moldcell Foundation’s contribution to social development through structured programs in key areas such as digital inclusion, education and creative technologies, digital safety, women empowerment, and social entrepreneurship, alongside initiatives dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, including persons with disabilities.

In just five years of activity, Moldcell Foundation has built a national portfolio of programs that have delivered tangible change for thousands of beneficiaries across the country: older adults who have gained digital skills and access to essential services, young people who create and grow within creative industries, women who have found the confidence to launch or expand their own businesses, persons with disabilities who have benefited from access to adapted services and technologies, as well as communities that have gained real opportunities in the digital era.
“For Moldcell Foundation, impact means consistency and presence where technology can change lives, when people choose to return, get involved, and place their trust in long-term initiatives. Each of our programs starts with a simple question: what does this change for someone, in real terms? Over the past five years, the answer has taken shape in growing communities, in people gaining confidence and courage, and in opportunities made possible through the commitment of volunteers and partners who share the same mission. This international recognition reflects the work of a team that has chosen to build long-term impact, here at home, in Moldova,” said Irina Strajescu, Executive Director of Moldcell Foundation.

According to the World Communication Awards jury, Moldcell Foundation stood out for its strategic and coherent approach to social responsibility, its programs with measurable impact, and its ability to develop scalable initiatives with strong local relevance and replication potential in other markets. The jury also highlighted the integration of social impact into the organization’s overall strategy and its sustained contribution to community development.

The Silver Award carries particular significance as it comes in the year when Moldcell Foundation marks five years of activity, reflecting the maturity and consistency of its mission.
Moldcell Foundation extends its gratitude to the Moldcell community, institutional and international partners, volunteers, and everyone who has contributed to transforming technology into a force for good, with a real impact on the development of the Republic of Moldova.
