Moldcell Foundation and IOM partnership to improve access to connectivity and digital services
Moldcell Foundation and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have signed a cooperation agreement to support people in vulnerable situations in the Republic of Moldova by improving access to connectivity and digital services.
For many vulnerable individuals, the lack of access to mobile telephony and digital services limits communication, access to information, and the use of basic services. These barriers affect social inclusion and active participation in community life, turning connectivity into a necessity rather than an optional benefit.
Through this partnership, Moldcell Foundation provides practical connectivity solutions, including SIM cards with mobile services, mobile devices, and training activities. These solutions are intended for people who face difficulties in using digital services and need functional tools to stay connected to information, essential services, and their communities.
The distribution of solutions and direct interaction with beneficiaries are carried out by IOM, an organization with extensive experience in working with people in vulnerable situations. This approach allows the support to be delivered where it is most needed, in a way that is adapted to the social context and the real needs of beneficiaries.

The initiative aligns with Moldcell Foundation’s strategic direction of promoting digital inclusion through projects that use technology as a practical tool for social support.
“For Moldcell Foundation, connectivity is a tool for social support. We use it where it can make a tangible difference – in access to information, services, and communication. Our partnership with IOM allows us to reach people facing real connectivity barriers and to provide simple, useful solutions tailored to their context,” said Irina Strajescu, Executive Director of Moldcell Foundation.
Through this project, Moldcell Foundation continues its commitment to using technology as a means of social support, backing initiatives that respond to real needs and facilitate access to connectivity, information, and essential services for people in vulnerable situations.
