As of July 2025, the municipality of Comrat hosts a new Intergenerational Center \u2013 a space dedicated to fostering dialogue between generations, strengthening social cohesion, and encouraging active participation in community life.<\/p>\n
The center offers a structured setting for direct interaction between young people and older adults, through joint activities that promote knowledge exchange, mutual respect, and collaboration at the local level. The initiative aims to build stronger ties between generations and to support inclusive, equitable engagement within the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach age group has its own needs and characteristics. Only through open dialogue can we overcome stereotypes and negative perceptions, and build meaningful connections between people and generations. Older people are grandparents, young people are grandchildren \u2013 and together, they form the families and communities that keep this country united,\u201d stated Karina Nersesyan, UNFPA Representative in Moldova.
\nMoldcell Foundation supports the operation of the Intergenerational Center by providing laptops for educational activities and digital inclusion. The donated equipment will be used in upcoming intergenerational sessions and workshops. This contribution reflects the Moldcell Foundation\u2019s mission to help build an inclusive society, where every generation has an active role and contributes to the common good.<\/p>\n

\nThe Comrat Intergenerational Center is part of a broader initiative implemented in 10 localities across the Republic of Moldova, including the ATU Gagauzia and the left bank of the Nistru River. The program is based on a tested Swiss methodology that promotes intergenerational dialogue through structured conversation, empathic listening, and community-based problem-solving.<\/p>\n
